Endeavour Foundation Prize Home

Waratah Homes are proud to announce our 34th Endeavour Prize Home build with the latest addition being a period style home in the Sunshine Coast hinterland area of Maleny.

Endeavour Foundation is the largest non-government disability service provider in Australia.

They support more than 3,400 people with a disability, from 230 locations in Queensland and New South Wales.

Endeavour is one of Queensland’s oldest charities, founded in 1951 by a group of mothers who wanted to educate their children with an intellectual disability.

Their goal is to provide opportunities for people with a disability so they may participate in everyday life of the community.

They offer people with a disability a range of services including:

  • accommodation
  • aged support
  • children focussed services
  • employment opportunities
  • education programs in literacy, technology and social skills
  • lifestyle opportunities

Endeavour Prize Homes have a wonderful, long-standing tradition of  fundraising for people with a disability through a house lottery.

They have been making dreams come true since 1966 – roughly every six weeks since then, by giving a house away to lucky lottery winners, not to mention millions in cash and gold bullion.

Every Endeavour Prize Home comes fully furnished, luxuriously decorated and is located in one of many great spots Queensland has to offer.

Tickets in the lottery cost just $10.

PLEASE support this amazing organisation by visiting their website and participating in the assistance they offer their clients, by purchasing a ticket in any of their upcoming Prize Home draws.

Our Maleny ‘Waratah’  is anticipated to be open for tickets in the coming Winter of 2011.

2009 H.I.A-CSR Housing Award

Waratah Homes have picked up  their 34th Queensland Housing Award – And boy are we excited !

HousingAwardsLogo_CMYK_HighRes

Received at the prestigious HIA-CSR 2009 Brisbane/Toowoomba evening, our clients were successful in the Custom Built Homes $750,000 to $1,000,000 open category. This is their second award for the stunning period style home at Boonah. This comes on the back of our Queensland Master Builders 2009 award win in their Heritage Category.

The judges made particular reference to the level of detail and quality of workmanship they saw. and this fact is a credit to the many men and woman that put their heart and soul into a ‘Waratah’. We are blessed with Tradesman of the highest calibre and work ethic, many of whom have built ‘Waratah’s’ since it’s inception in 1994. This industry-recognised quality of workmanship, is what sets us apart and gives us our edge over other Builders. A tremendous amount of time and patience is required and invested by our people to get it right , and the end product speaks for itself. Waratah have many imitators but little, if any competitors.

Industry recognition by your peers is the highest honour any company can receive for it’s product., along with complete client satisfaction. Whilst it’s awfully nice for us to receive accolades for our work, it’s great to see the pride our clients feel from hanging the award on the wall of their Waratah Homes.

Santa’s little Helpers

Christmas will come early in October 2009 to our customers as we gear up for the silly season. Waratah Directors Ernie and Steven are in a joyous and giving mood as the picture of our happy little helpers depicts.

40 Minutes drive from Brisbane into country Queensland , our award winning home in Boonah has captured the imagination of both local residents and Brisbanities alike.  The area is renowned for turn of the century architecture, primarily in the Colonial and Queenslander styles.  The clients were keen to enhance, and add to the heritage of the stately country homes in the area. A great deal of site preparation was required as the property perches at the peak of one of the towns surrounding hills, with the removal of over 2,000m3 of fill. Dressed Sandstone retaining walls where adopted to maximise the footprint of the residence and outbuildings.
